Walleca S. Long is a compassionate and dedicated professional with more than 15 years of experience in family engagement, staff development, and community‑centered service. Her career has been shaped by a deep commitment to supporting individuals of all ages, strengthening school–family partnerships, and creating environments where people feel seen, supported, and empowered.
Walleca brings a strong academic and professional foundation to her work. She holds an Associate Degree in Social Work and is currently completing her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW). She also has a solid background in early childhood education, supported by her Child Development Associate (CDA) certification. In addition, she is a Certified Addictions Specialist, equipping her with the skills to support individuals and families navigating complex behavioral and emotional needs. These combined credentials strengthen her ability to provide trauma‑informed, person‑centered, and developmentally appropriate support across diverse populations.
Before joining Hope Haven of Northeast Georgia as a Program Coordinator Supervisor, Walleca spent over a decade serving the Clarke County School District as a Bus Manager, Instructor, and Trainer. In that role, she recruited and trained transportation staff, ensured safe and inclusive transportation for students—including those with special needs—and built strong relationships with families and school personnel. Her earlier work as a Lead Pre- K Teacher and Trainer at Kids‑R‑Kids further grounded her in child development, early learning, and the importance of nurturing meaningful connections between educators, children, and parents.
Across every chapter of her career, Walleca’s most memorable and meaningful experiences have centered on helping others achieve their goals. Whether guiding a family toward needed resources, mentoring new staff, or supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in community‑based programs, she finds purpose in watching others grow, succeed, and discover their own strengths.
Family is at the heart of everything Walleca does. Her personal values of love, loyalty, and togetherness shape the way she leads, serves, and shows up for her community. She brings warmth, integrity, and a genuine desire to uplift others to every space she enters—making her not only a skilled professional, but a trusted partner to the families and communities she serves.
