Values and Mission Statement

Hope Haven’s mission is to prepareempower and connect adults with developmental disabilities to strengthen our community.

Prepare: Practice makes perfect.

We are teachers and we share all we know with those we serve.

Empower: Be the safety net, not the harness.

We are prepared for life’s experiences and we know experience builds confidence, and confidence leads to independence.

Connect: Community is a group of people, not a place.

We are a bridge to relationships and all that we do prepares those that we serve for their desired social roles.

Individuals who receive services from Hope Haven should expect to gain opportunities for increased community participation. We strongly believe that individuals have the right to direct their service design and delivery, and as such, each individual is involved in developing their own Individualized Service Plan, which identifies goals specific to their own strengths, abilities, preferences, and desired outcomes.  Therefore, results and outcomes of services will vary according to each individual’s preferences and desires.  Services available are outlined in our brochure, handbooks, and website.  In addition, Hope Haven’s social worker is available to provide further information and consultation regarding services availability, including any possible wait times that may occur as a result of the intake process and staffing considerations, as well as organizational certifications, such as CARF accreditation and DCH licensure for Community Living Arrangements and Private Home Care Provider services.

About_usThis agency is privately governed by its own Board of Directors which is comprised of outstanding individuals within the community who are private citizens recognized as leaders in their professions and within the business community.

The Board of Directors, among other things, holds an annual fundraising event titled Threads of Hope to help support operating costs, fund capital improvements and provide equipment and vehicles not funded by the state.

The Board of Directors also hosts an annual recognition banquet and funds some of the cost for individuals to attend camp during the summer.
